Introducing Hair: a booking app for salons and stylists
Hair is the third marketplace variant we're building on the Qubin platform — booking and discovery for hair salons and independent stylists. It's currently in development; here's the plan.
A familiar problem for a different chair
Booking a haircut or color appointment runs into the same friction NailMe was built to solve for nail studios: figuring out who's actually good, whether they're free when you are, and getting your request across before you sit down. Hair applies the same marketplace mechanics to salons and stylists.
What Hair is built to do
- Stylist & salon discovery — browse by location and real-time availability, not just map pins
- In-app booking — pick a slot and confirm an appointment without leaving the app
- Direct chat — message a stylist ahead of time with reference photos or specific requests
- Portfolio browsing — see a salon's or stylist's actual past work, organized so you can compare across the platform
Reusing what already works
Hair doesn't reinvent booking, chat or reviews — it runs on the exact same feature modules already serving NailMe customers today, with the styling and categories swapped for the hair industry. That's the advantage of building all four Qubin brand variants — nails, tattoo, craft and hair — on one Kotlin Multiplatform codebase: improvements to the shared booking and chat systems reach every brand at once. We go into the architecture in why we run four marketplace brands on one Kotlin Multiplatform codebase.
What's next
Hair is still pre-launch. As with Craft, we're prioritizing the same fundamentals that made NailMe usable on day one: fast studio discovery, reliable availability, and chat that actually gets a response — before adding anything hair-specific on top.
Are you a stylist or salon owner?
